At Northeast Acupuncture, we believe in treating the individual, not just the symptoms. Each person presents with a unique combination of symptoms and health concerns that require a holistic, customized approach. To create a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan, we gather comprehensive information during your initial visit.

First Appointment:
When you arrive for your first session, you will complete a detailed Health History and Initial Intake form, as well as review and sign our Informed Consent/Notice of Privacy form. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete these forms.

During the assessment, the practitioner will review your Health History, ask additional questions, take your pulse, observe your tongue, and may palpate certain channels or points to identify the correct pattern for treatment. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Before Treatment Begins:
- Remove your shoes and socks.
- Roll up pant legs and shirt sleeves as needed.
- Remove watches or anything that may interfere with taking your pulse at the wrists.
- Make yourself comfortable; the practitioner will be with you shortly.

Once treatment begins, your job is to simply relax. A typical session lasts 30-40 minutes. Afterward, you can check out at reception, schedule future appointments, and continue with your day.

Subsequent Visits:
For follow-up appointments, we will ask fewer, more focused questions to monitor your progress. Sometimes, we may ask you to fill out a brief form before entering the treatment room to update us on your condition.
